Drug which has been studied in a limited number of breastfeeding women without an increase in adverse effects in the infant; And/or, the evidence of a demonstrated risk which is likely to follow use of this medication in a breastfeeding woman is remote.
Typical usage: Dizziness, motion sickness, nausea and vomiting, vertigo, vestibular disturbances.
Side Effects: Tachycardia, palpitation, urinary retention, visual hallucination, drowsiness, anorexia, diarrhea, insomnia, nervous, dry mouth, blurred vision, rashes, nausea and vomiting, nervousness.
Drug Interaction: Meclizine is known to interact with other drugs like alcohol, atropine (Sulphate). Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.
Mechanism Of Action: Meclizine possesses anticholinergic, central nervous system depressant, and local anesthetic effects. Meclizine depresses labyrinth excitability and vestibular stimulation and may affect the medullary chemoreceptor trigger zone.
