Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.

Drug Interaction: This drug should not be used with the following medications because very serious, possibly fatal interactions may occur: Medication for impotence which are phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors (e.g. sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil). If you are currently using any of these medications, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting nicorandil. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and non-prescription/herbal products you may use, especially of. Mechanism Of Action: Nicorandil dilates arterioles and large coronary arteries by opening the potassium channels, and stimulates guanylate cyclase causing venous vasodilatation. It therefore reduces preload and afterload, and improves coronary blood flow.
