MECHANISM OF ACTION
Levocetirizine is an antihistamine. It works by blocking a substance in the body called histamine. This helps to decrease allergy symptoms and hives.
Montelukast is used to prevent and treat asthma, seasonal allergies (hay fever), and prevent exercise-induced asthma.
Infection of air passage, diarrhea, urge to vomit, vomiting, raised liver enzymes, rash, fever, restlessness, agitation, headache, abdominal pain, abnormal liver function and severe allergic reactions.
Drugs like phenobarbital, phenytoin, gemfibrozil, and rifampicin decrease the blood levels of montelukast. Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.
