SALT INFORMATION

Nicotinamide(100 mg)

TYPICAL USAGE

To treat inflammatory skin disease like acne, anxiety and Alzheimer’s disease

SIDE EFFECTS

Hepatotoxicity, cholestasis, portal fibrosis, headache, fatigue, urge to vomit (nausea), stomach upset, dizziness, dry hair, diarrhea, blurred vision, flushing and rash.

DRUG INTERACTION

Nicotinamide is known to interact with other drugs like carbamazepine, primidone by reducing its clearance. It also interacts with drugs like chloramphenicol, phenytoin, methotrexate, penicillamine, other vitamins/nutritional supplements, antibiotics like ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin and tetracyclines. Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Nicotinamide is a component of two coenzymes, which bring about tissue respiration, lipid, amino acid, protein, and purine metabolism. Nicotinamide lowers blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels by inhibiting the synthesis of very low density lipoproteins.

D-Pantothenate(50mg /2ml)

TYPICAL USAGE

moisturizing properties

SIDE EFFECTS

Allergic skin reactions.

DRUG INTERACTION

Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Panthenol comes in two enantiomers, D and L. Only D-panthenol (dexpanthenol) is biologically active, however both forms have moisturizingproperties.Pantothenol is incorporated into COENZYME A and protects cells against peroxidative damage by increasing the level of GLUTATHIONE.

Vitamin B6(100 mg)

TYPICAL USAGE

It is used for the treatment and prevention of vitamin B6 deficiency. It is important for the breakdown of protein, fats, and carbohydrates from foods.

SIDE EFFECTS

Nausea, stomach upset, headache, sleepiness, tingling, prickling, burning or sensation of tightness.

DRUG INTERACTION

Pyridoxine is known to interact with other drugs like ethionamide, fosphenytoin, isoniazid, levodopa, nitrofurantoin, penicillamine, phenobarbitone, phenytoin (Na). Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Vitamin B6, principally in its biologically active coenzyme form pyridoxal 5'-phosphate, is involved in a wide range of biochemical reactions, including the metabolism of amino acids and glycogen, the synthesis of nucleic acids, hemogloblin, sphingomyelin and other sphingolipids, and the synthesis of the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).

Vitamin B12(1000 mcg)

TYPICAL USAGE

Addisonian pernicious anaemia, congenital cobalamine malabsorption, congenital intrinsic factor deficiency, homocystenemia, ileal resection, methylmalonylacidurias, nutrition deficiency, post gastrectomy vit B-12 deficiency.

SIDE EFFECTS

Hypersensitivity reactions, shivering, dyspnea, persistant urticaria, bronchospasm.

DRUG INTERACTION

Cyanocobalamin is known to interact with other drugs like alcohol, chloramphenicol, cholestyramine, colchicine, epoetin, glucose, neomycin, omeprazole. Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Vitamin B12 is used in the body in two forms: Methylcobalamin and 5-deoxyadenosyl cobalamin. The enzyme methionine synthase needs methylcobalamin as a cofactor. This enzyme is involved in the conversion of the amino acid homocysteine into methionine. Methionine in turn is required for DNA methylation. 5-Deoxyadenosyl cobalamin is a cofactor needed by the enzyme that converts L-methylmalonyl-CoA to succinyl-CoA. This conversion is an important step in the extraction of energy from proteins and fats.
