MECHANISM OF ACTION

Tricholine citrate exerts lipotropic action in the hepatic cells. Choline converts deposited fats into lecithin and other similar phospholipids. Lecithin is a major component of high density lipoprotein (HDL) that mobilizes cell membrane cholesterol and promotes hepatic degeneration.

TYPICAL USAGE

Transurethral surgery, urinary bladder irrigation, constipation.

SIDE EFFECTS

Sinus tachycardia, seizures, urinary retention, metabolic acidosis, pulmonary congestion, thirst, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, blurred vision, facial flushing, sweating.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Sorbitol shows its laxative and cathartic property by unabsorbed in the large intestine. Unabsorbed sorbitol retains water in the large intestine through osmotic pressure thereby stimulating peristalsis of the intestine and exerting its diuretic, laxative and cathartic effect.

Can I take Sorbiline (200ml) during pregnancy?

Experiences of drug use and evidence from studies in pregnant women have shown risk to fetus. This drug may be used in pregnant women if benefit outweighs the risk. Patients should follow the advice of the doctor regarding its use.

Can I take Sorbiline (200ml) while breastfeeding/lactation?

Possibly unsafe: Evidence from studies in breastfeeding women show that there is a definite risk of side effects to the breastfed infants. However, use of the drug in breastfeeding women is acceptable in spite of the risk to the infants, if the drug is needed in a life-threatening situation or for a serious disease for which safer drugs cannot be used or are ineffective. Patients should follow the advice of the doctor regarding its use.
